Nine reactive self-tests came out of 2,700 kits distributed across Agona West this year — a small number on paper, and the number that matters most to us. Every one of those nine people went on to a confirmatory test, and every one of those nine is now linked to care, including a case in Gomoa Obuasi that our volunteers followed through to ART services at Nyanyano Health Centre.
That follow-through is the quiet part of self-testing that doesn't show up in a kit count: a volunteer who takes down a phone number, calls back a week later, and walks someone to the health centre door if that's what it takes. All nine reactive cases this year were among women, which is now shaping where we take the next round of kits — including more worksite visits to mechanic shops, lorry stations and barbering shops where men gather.
